The Opportunity: 

The Senior Civil Designer is a key technical delivery role responsible for the development, coordination, and production of high-quality road and civil design models and documentation across multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. Working closely with engineers, designers, and project managers, the role supports the successful delivery of projects across transport, power, mining, industrial, and water sectors.

The ideal candidate will have 10–15 years’ experience in a consulting engineering environment, with strong technical expertise in 3D Modelling, designing and producing accurate and efficient outputs for civil and highway, earthworks, drainage, and utilities projects. Experience with Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) road design standards and requirements will be highly regarded.

You will bring a strong focus on quality, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor junior team members while collaborating effectively with engineers and project managers.

What you need:

Essential

• 10–15 years’ experience in civil design/modelling within a consulting engineering environment.
• Advanced proficiency in 12d or Open Roads
• Strong understanding of road design and civil infrastructure principles across multiple sectors.
• Experience delivering design packages for complex infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret design standards and translate them into practical modelling outputs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Design, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).

Desirable

• Experience with TfNSW road design standards and project delivery requirements.
• Exposure to digital engineering frameworks (ISO 19650), BIM, or model-based delivery.
• Experience across multiple sectors (transport, power, land development, mining, industrial, water).
• Familiarity with additional software (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS platforms, ProjectWise, Open Roads).
