Graduate Development Engineer

About the role:

The Hills Shire Council is a growth centre with substantial built-form and land release development, and we have an exciting opportunity for a recent Development Engineer Graduate (having graduated within the last 12 months) to join our Subdivision and Development Certification Team. This role will provide the successful candidate with on-going training, ability to build on current skills sets and an opportunity to broaden your knowledge with exposure to all aspects of Subdivision and Development Certification related activities.

What this role looks like:  

• Assist under supervision to provide advice regarding Development Applications for all types of development including preparing reports, requests for information and engineering conditions of consent.
• Assist with conducting environmental assessments for rural and urban development with regards to engineering works.
• Assess and prepare reports for post consent approvals including but not limited to subdivision works certificates, subdivision certificates, s138/68 approvals, compliance certificates and preparation of final plans and instruments related to the registration of subdivisions.
• Assist with inspections of public infrastructure and other post-consent matters.

What are we seeking in our new team member:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications
• Drivers Licence (Class C) - NSW
• White Card - General Construction Induction
