About the role
This is a permanent, part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2027
Somerly Primary School provides a friendly, positive and caring learning environment where students are encouraged to model our key values of respect, responsibility and safety. These values are taught through our well-established Positive Behaviour School Process. We have a dedicated and experienced staff who share a commitment to the school vision and values. We provide a strong foundation in literacy and numeracy. Our students engage in a well-rounded curriculum experience based on the Early Years Learning Framework and Australian curriculum including humanities; social sciences and health and technology. We also provide our students with the opportunity to study a range of subjects including music, physical education, science, visual arts, digital technology and Italian.

The Role
The successful applicant should be a passionate teacher of Digital Technology, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The successful applicant should use professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant primary digital technology curriculum. An understanding of differentiation to meet diverse student needs is necessary, along with proficiency in utilising various assessment tools to inform progress, provide constructive feedback, and guide future classroom planning.
The successful applicant should have exceptional interpersonal skills, displaying a natural ability to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. They would need to establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, setting high expectations and cultivating a growth mindset, while nurturing students' social and emotional development.
A key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are fun, purposeful, relevant and cater for differing student learning needs.
They should be committed to personal and professional growth and will embrace opportunities for collaboration.
