About the role

As the Senior Maintenance and Reliability Engineer, you will lead Tindo’s Maintenance and Reliability function, supporting our modern, highly automated solar manufacturing facility.

You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, availability and reliability of our manufacturing equipment by leading preventative and corrective maintenance activities, diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and process issues, and driving continuous improvement across the facility. This is a hands-on leadership role, with involvement in repairs, breakdown response and fault finding, while working closely with the Production Team to minimise downtime and maximise equipment performance.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing maintenance and reliability strategies and schedules, identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, and proposing and managing capital and operational expenditure for equipment upgrades, installations and improvements.

The role requires strong safety leadership, technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving, along with the flexibility to support the operation outside standard hours when required, including occasional weekend and call-in work

Key responsibilities

• Promote a proactive safety-first culture by leading by example, and ensuring team go above and beyond WHS regulations

• Proactively identify hazards and work to reduce risk

• Develop WHS documentation for the Maintenance function to meet or exceed WHS regulations including risk assessments and maintenance procedures

• Ensure that all machinery is compliant with Australian Standards and safety mechanisms are in good working order at all times

• Oversee pre-operational checks on relevant equipment, including documentation

• Report workplace incidents, near-misses, or injuries, including process incidents, and conduct root cause analysis where appropriate

• Build and lead a high-performing Maintenance and Reliability Team, conduct periodic performance evaluations and provide coaching or mentoring as needed

• Assign tasks to staff based on business priorities, skill sets, and workload demands

• Develop and oversee preventative maintenance schedules for all Production equipment

• Lead development and optimisation of automated manufacturing systems and oversee PLC, HMI and industrial network architecture

About you

• Relevant trade qualification or Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar).

• 10+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment, ideally with automated production equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.

• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, automation, pneumatics, motors, drives, pumps and control systems.

• Proven leadership and supervision skills, with a strong focus on safety and compliance.

• Sound understanding of relevant WHS legislation, regulations and Australian Standards.

• Ability to manage competing priorities calmly and effectively.

• Strong continuous improvement and change management mindset.
