• Permanent full-time position (Monday-Friday)
• Depot based in Port Melbourne

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Gardeners to assist with various tasks related to garden maintenance. This hands-on role working on some incredible sites the City of Port Phillip has to offer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with garden maintenance tasks such as hedging, weeding, pruning, planting, and mulching.
• Operate hand tools such as hedgers, blowers and whipper snippers and petrol gear such as push mowers and ride on plant equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Load and unload materials, plants, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

About You

You have a strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks efficiently and to the highest standards. Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field will be highly regarded.

Qualification in Cert 3 in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or equivalent (preferred)

You have a current drivers licence, National Police Check (or willing to obtain) and Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).

This role can be physically demanding and you must have the ability to safely lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel and stand for extended periods.

Your ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team will help you to be successful in this role.
