About the role

Austin Engineering has permanent fulltime employment opportunities available within the Kewdale, WA, based workshop for experienced Boilermakers to work on the fabrication and engineering of buckets, trays and other heavy mining equipment for Tier 1 resources clients across the state.

The roles support our team for long-term investment across our WA Operation in terms of engineering innovation and advanced manufacturing including robotics.

The role working arrangements are:

• Permanent Full time, up to 55hrs per week

• Monday - Thursday 10-hours, Friday 8 hours (no nightshift)

• Saturday shifts at higher rates

What we are looking for

• Trade qualification in Heavy Fabrication / Mechanical Engineering (Boilermaker) - essential

• Min. 2- 3 years’ experience in heavy mobile equipment fabrication - bucket experience preferred

• Dogging and/or Rigging ticket

• Must be willing to undergo a welding test as part of the interview steps, with the requirement to pass a 3G on 16mm plate with backing bar

• Demonstrate and have the ability to weld in all positions using 1.6mm 81 NI & 71 NI Flux cored wire

• Able to oxy flame cut complex profile (radius/bevel) in line with drawing

• Ability to follow and adhere to weld procedures

• Ability to complete weld trace sheets during the shift for each job you are working on

• Demonstrate of strong understanding and commitment to safe working practices

• Self-motivated, organized, punctual and reliable

• Ability to work well in a team environment and independently

• Ability to work Monday to Friday between 6am and 1030pm
