Diesel Mechanic - Field & Workshop

Tompsett Asphalt is an Australian-owned company specialising in asphalt paving, road maintenance, pavement rehabilitation and civil construction. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic – Field & Workshop to join our team based in Sunshine West, VIC.

This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work across both our workshop and field operations, maintaining our fleet of light & heavy vehicles and asphalt equipment.

The successful applicant will have:

• Trade qualifications and experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

• Experience working on light and heavy vehicles, with truck and asphalt equipment experience highly desirable.

• The ability to schedule and organise parts, complete planned maintenance and carry out emergency repairs.

• A strong commitment to safe work practices.

• The ability to maintain a clean and well-organised workshop.

• Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with staff and suppliers.

• A strong work ethic, initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Accurate electronic record-keeping skills.

• Experience with hydraulics and auto electrical systems will be highly regarded.

• Flexibility to work additional hours to meet operational requirements, including occasional weekend work.
