OUR STORY
The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.
The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

THE ROLE
PO011 - Senior Policy Officer - APONT
Full-time, Fixed-Term Contract for 12 months

Key Functions
The position aims to enhance the Central Land Council’s participaton in and support for the Strategic priorities of APO NT particularly with respect to improving outcomes under the national Closing the Gap Agreement. This includes advocacy relating to Closing the Gap Priority Reforms and socio-economic targets including the actions identified in NT jurisdictional implementation plans.
The position sits within the Central Land Council’s Policy Unit and reports to an identified Central Land Council’s Senior Policy Officer. The position will meet regularly with the APONT secretariat and with APONT policy officers in other member organisations regarding priority work.
Remuneration & Remarkable Benefits
Base Salary: Starting from $90,386 p.a. (negotiable classification banding based on skills and experience, subject to CLC EA guidelines and authorised approval).

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
