About the role
We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to lead the finance function across a privately owned, multi-entity group.
The group operates across construction, professional services and agriculture, each with distinct operational and financial drivers. This role brings these together into a clear, consolidated view of group performance, cash flow, budgets and forecasting.
You will ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and supports decision-making across the group. This includes consolidating results, maintaining strong financial controls, and working closely with business leaders on planning, forecasting and performance.
You will report to the General Manager and work closely with the Managing Director, business leaders, and the accounts and administration team.
This is a senior, hands-on role that combines financial control with practical business engagement. It suits someone confident working across multiple entities and translating financial data into clear commercial insight.
Key responsibilities
Lead group financial reporting
Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management across all entities
Maintain strong financial controls, systems and compliance frameworks
Manage banking, audit and external financial relationships
Support business leaders with financial insight, analysis and performance tracking
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting and processes
Ensure consistency and accuracy across multiple entities and cost centres
Support capital expenditure planning and investment analysis
Occasional travel between group sites may be required
You will have strong experience in a senior financial control or finance management role, ideally within a multi-entity or group structure.
Formal accounting qualifications (CA or CPA) are not essential; however, a strong technical understanding of financial reporting, compliance and controls is required.
You will bring:
Experience across multi-entity or group financial environments
Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting capability
A practical, commercial mindset with strong attention to detail
Confidence working directly with operational and business leaders
Ability to manage competing priorities across different businesses
Experience with multi-entity reporting, project cost control, and payroll platforms will be highly regarded.
A structured, calm approach in a fast-moving environment
Experience in construction, project-based businesses, or regional operations will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
We offer a key leadership role within a growing regional group operating across construction, professional services and agriculture.
You will work directly with senior leadership and play a central role in shaping financial systems, reporting and performance across the group.
We provide:
A competitive salary package aligned to experience
Genuine influence over group financial systems and decision-making
A diverse and interesting multi-entity environment
Long-term stability within an established regional business group
To apply for this position, please submit the following:
A current resume
A brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role
All applications must be submitted through SEEK to ensure a confidential and streamlined process.
