About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Organisational Development Team’s primary focus is to assist IUIH meet its strategic objective of expanding and maintaining a competent and enabled health workforce. With IUIH experiencing significant workforce growth over the last decade the focus is on development, management and implementation of frameworks and programs to increase Indigenous workforce participation, build required workforce skill sets, train existing staff to maximise opportunities for business development and quality of care, build workforce pathways, and create and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways.

About the Role?

As Instructional Designer/Curriculum Writer your role is to design and develop contextualised, culturally responsive resources and assessments aligned to IUIH Ways of working and ASQA training package requirements. These training products will support learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and engaging manner.

Your day to day duties may include:

• Undertake reporting activities together with other relevant documentation within the scope of your role. 
• Consult with subject matter experts and existing resources to design, develop and implement innovative, contemporary content contextualised to learner needs.
• Create rich media course content (video, written content, audio, dynamic and static visual assets, infographics etc.) that results in interactive and engaged learning.
• Ongoing review and evaluation of established training content to ensure best practices are captured and standardised delivery processes are used.

About You?

• Current Criminal History Check
• Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
• Current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card)
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Cert IV or Diploma in Training and Assessment.

Desirable, but not mandatory:

• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
