Senior Analytics Engineer

what you’ll do.

Collaborate with clients to design and deliver modern analytics solutions, from business requirements to interactive dashboards and reports

Design and develop data models, curated datasets, and semantic models that provide a trusted foundation for reporting, self-service analytics, and AI

Facilitate design and requirements sessions with business and technical stakeholders

Build and maintain data transformations using SQL, dbt, Python, or other modern analytics engineering tools

Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or Looker, applying data visualization and storytelling best practices

Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks to ensure reliable and consistent analytics

Support the design of modern data warehouses, lakehouses, and analytics platforms in collaboration with data engineering teams

Work closely with data architects, data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure analytics solutions are aligned with business needs

Produce functional and technical documentation

Stay up to date with developments in analytics engineering, semantic modeling, modern BI platforms, AI-assisted analytics, and cloud data technologies

what you’ll bring.

Bachelor’s degree in IT, applied mathematics, statistics, business analytics, or other relevant field, or equivalent practical experience

5+ years experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data analytics, preferably within a consulting environment

Strong experience with requirements gathering, data modeling, semantic modeling, and dimensional modeling for analytics and reporting

Hands-on experience with SQL and modern data transformation frameworks such as dbt; experience with Python is a plus

Experience building reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or similar BI platforms

Good understanding of modern data platforms, including data warehouses, lakehouses, cloud platforms, and analytics workflows

Exposure to or interest in AI/ML integration and modern business intelligence concepts

Experience working in Agile environments

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bridge business and technology

Non-negotiable: strong communication skills in Dutch and English
