Derbarl is seeking a Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) Program Officer to join the team!
About the role
As a TIS Program Officer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of collaborative activities regarding tackling Indigenous smoking.
The TIS team focuses on undertaking a multi-level population health and whole of region approach to tobacco control, targeting all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This approach involves community education via events, media messages (including social and online), small group sessions, and referral pathways to specialist Tobacco Educational Services for one-on-one support. The TIS team actively collaborates and works closely with the National Best Practice Unit to develop strategies, address key challenges, facilitate data collection, undertake performance reporting and participate in national and state workshops and training.

About the Organisation
Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service (DYHS) was established in 1974 and is the largest Aboriginal community-controlled health service provider in Western Australia, providing care to over 20,000 Aboriginal patients across four clinics in East Perth, Mirrabooka, Maddington and Midland. Our staff enable the delivery of culturally responsive primary health services, focusing on prevention, early intervention, comprehensive care and care coordination including chronic disease management.
