About the role

Join our facilities maintenance planning team in a pivotal role that keeps our facilities operating at their best.
As Maintenance Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective management and upkeep of hospital assets across designated SJGHC site(s). You will coordinate maintenance activities to support operational requirements and ensure compliance with Australian Standards, regulatory and licensing obligations, and best practice guidelines. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will help deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective asset maintenance services that support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate and prioritise maintenance activities across the hospital to ensure assets, equipment and facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
Manage work requests, resource allocation and contractor engagement through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Monitor maintenance performance, track costs and budgets, and prepare reports and KPI dashboards to support continuous improvement.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers and service providers to ensure timely completion of maintenance works and minimise equipment downtime.
Maintain accurate records, technical documentation, service reports and asset information while ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Support engineering projects, asset repairs and compliance programs, contributing to the efficient delivery of Engineering Services across the hospital.
Your skills and experience
You will bring at least two years’ experience in maintenance planning or job coordination, along with experience using computerised asset and maintenance management systems. You have the ability to understand asset management principles and translate them into effective maintenance workflows and planning practices.
A strong communicator, you are skilled at building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, and are a motivated, results-driven professional who demonstrates initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Ideally, you will have a broad understanding of building services and engineering trades, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Trade or engineering qualifications, experience in a hospital maintenance environment, knowledge of permit-to-work systems, and an understanding of budgeting and financial management will be highly regarded.

Salary: $81,827 to $88,109 per annum, plus 12% superannuation
Full-time position, working 38 hours per week
