Principal Data Center Facilities Engineer

Job Description

Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure the continuous availability of the power and cooling in the data center.Support customer operations, growth, and design changes. Oversee facility electrical load management and overall health of data center critical environmentsEnsure redundancy is maintained during failure and maintenance scenariosOversee new buildouts through commissioning oversight, handover and delivery timeline tracking, and document gathering and management. Perform non-routine and complex administrative workloads and program initiativesHost post-incident reviews and mitigation coordinationPrepare and present change requests for complex repairs or upgradesOn-call support for after hours events and incidentsTrack equipment specifications, nameplate ratings, and capacity limitations

Responsibilities

Technical

A desire to learn and participate in the creation and development of scalable engineering solutionsAbility to read and utilize electrical and mechanical schematicsSafely performing electrical switching operationsReview of MOPs and SOPs for accuracy, safety, and to assess the potential for business impactOverseeing the maintenance activities performed by others to ensure they are conducted safely and correctlyImplement Oracle change management, ensureing adherence to OCI policiesUndertaking the testing of electrical and cooling systems and identifying issues and working on solutionsSupporting the resolution of engineering incidents, and root cause analysisOverseeing the installation of electrical and cooling infrastructure

Testing and Verification

Following existing procedures and play a key role in the development and improvement of processesAnalyzing and validate system data and reports for accuracy and completenessUndertaking risk assessments of supplier or partner worksScheduling and track completion of preventive and corrective work itemsDrafting scopes of work and requests for proposal for vendors and service providersProviding frequent reports on key performance indicators pertaining to space, power, and availabilityAssist with developing dashboards and automation to support scalable solutions

Project Implementation

Implementation and tracking of project plans in conjunction with othersParticipating in the development of technical and process improvementsIdentifying potential issues and working with others to ensure project success
