Electrical Trade Assistant Casual – FIFO 2:1 (Karratha, WA)

Coastal Electrical and Data is seeking an experienced Electrical Trade Assistant to join our growing team in Karratha, Western Australia.

This is a casual FIFO position working a 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster, with flights departing from Perth. You will assist our qualified electricians across residential, commercial, industrial and mining projects throughout Karratha and the Pilbara.

You’ll be part of a supportive and professional team that values safety, development and teamwork.

What you will be doing

·      Assisting qualified electricians with installations, maintenance and project work

·      Supporting work across commercial, industrial, residential and mine-site projects

·      Pulling cables and installing cable trays, conduits and supports

·      Preparing tools, equipment and materials for scheduled work

·      Loading, unloading and safely moving materials and equipment

·      Operating plant and equipment when appropriately licensed and authorised

·      Assisting with site mobilisation and demobilisation

·      Maintaining clean, safe and organised work areas, vehicles and equipment

·      Working with electricians, other trades, site personnel and project managers

·      Following instructions, safe work procedures and site requirements

·      Completing timesheets and job documentation accurately

·      Undertaking general Trade Assistant duties as directed

What We’re Looking For

·      Previous experience as an Electrical Trade Assistant

·      Experience on commercial, industrial or mine-site projects

·      A strong commitment to workplace safety

·      Ability to follow instructions and work safely with minimal supervision

·      Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

·      Good communication skills and a professional attitude

·      Reliable, punctual and physically capable of completing the required duties

·      Willingness to work a 2:1 FIFO roster in Karratha

·      A positive attitude and strong work ethic

Requirements

·      Current Australian Driver’s License

·      Construction White Card

·      Previous Trade Assistant, electrical, construction or mining experience

·      Ability to pass pre-employment and site medical assessments

·      Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing, including LabDAS, when required

·      Australian working rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship

Highly Regarded

·      Additional High Risk Work Licenses

·      Previous experience working in Karratha or the Pilbara

·      Experience working with electrical tools, equipment and materials

·      Previous mine-site or industrial experience

·      Forklift License

·      Skid Steer License or recognised competency

·      Excavator License or recognised competency

·      Working at Heights

·      EWP or relevant High Risk Work License

·      First Aid and LV/CPR, or willingness to obtain

Physical Requirements

Applicants must be able to:

·      Work safely in indoor and outdoor environments

·      Work at heights and in confined spaces when appropriately trained

·      Regularly lift and carry tools, equipment and materials

·      Complete physically demanding work throughout the roster

·      Comply with all company and client health and safety requirements
