About the role
About the role
This is a newly created leadership role responsible for improving procurement governance, strengthening supplier relationships, optimising commercial outcomes and supporting project delivery teams with expert contractual and procurement guidance. Reporting to the Executive Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in improving supply chain performance, reducing commercial risk and contributing to stronger project margins across the business.
Key responsibilities
Lead procurement activities across civil construction, maintenance, trades and environmental services projects.
Manage tendering, supplier evaluation, contract negotiations and supplier selection processes in collaboration with Commercial Manager.
Develop and implement procurement strategies that improve efficiency, consistency and value for money.
Establish and manage preferred supplier agreements and strategic supplier relationships.
Provide commercial and contractual support to project, delivery and operational teams.
Support estimating, project mobilisation and delivery phases to maximise commercial outcomes.
Identify, manage and mitigate procurement variation costs on projects and budget risks.
Drive continuous improvement in procurement systems, governance and processes.
Monitor supplier performance, compliance and contract obligations.
About you
Proven experience in procurement, contracts management or commercial management within civil construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy or related industries.
Strong contract negotiation and contract administration capability.
Experience delivering procurement savings and supplier performance improvements.
Sound understanding of commercial risk management and procurement governance.
Experience working with major construction, service or Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)-style contracts.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
