Food & Beverage Supervisor

Cairns Harbourside Hotel is restructuring its Food & Beverage department — and we’re on the lookout for an additional passionate supervisor to strengthen our team. As Food & Beverage Supervisor, you’ll help guide day-to-day service across our restaurant, bar, room service, conferencing and events areas — ensuring exceptional guest experiences with a smile. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can confidently jump in wherever needed! While this role will primarily focus on afternoon shifts, we do mix things up to ensure team flexibility, coverage and growth across all service periods.

A bit about the role….

Working as a Food & Beverage Supervisor, your day to day will generally consist of:

• Genuinely engage with guests and provide professional, attentive service

• Supervise restaurant and bar operations, including breakfast buffet, à la carte, cocktails, and coffees

• Take guest orders, manage room service, handle stock and cash duties

• Assist with the setup and service of in-house conferences, events, and private functions

• Maintain presentation, hygiene and safety standards across all F&B spaces

• Train and guide junior team members, leading by example with energy and professionalism

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth and memorable guest experience

A bit about you…

You’re a true people person — calm under pressure, full of initiative, and always ready to roll up your sleeves:

• Previous food & beverage experience (minimum 1 year preferred)

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a hotel environment preferred

• Strong communication and people management skills

• Flexible and adaptable across different service types (restaurant, bar, room service, events)

• Barista and cocktail knowledge an advantage

• Available to work varied shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays

• RSA Certificate (required)

• Well-groomed, punctual, and takes pride in presenting professionally

• Ready to lead from the front and jump between tasks with confidence
