Sports Field Maintenance Labourer

The Details:

• Permanent Full Time | 76 hour fortnight
• This team currently works full time hours over 4 days/week - Tuesday to Friday 6:00am to 4:06pm. 12 month trial.
• $74,199 pa  (ie. $37.55/hour) - incl. industry and uniform allowance + 12% super (level 3) 
• Location: Margate 

Help maintain our community's sports fields, surrounds and open green spaces. Working closely with a Crew Leader on a designated run, you’ll play a key role in maintaining Council’s valuable green assets so they remain safe, functional and enjoyable for the community.

This hands on role involves delivering a range of regular maintenance activities predominantly across sports fields, surrounds and open spaces. Work is typically structured across a planned run, supporting the consistent upkeep of assigned areas and contributing to high quality presentation standards.

Some of the tasks include:

• mowing
• whipper snipping
• tractor operation
• brush cutting
• chemical spraying
• removal of debris and litter
• driving a ute and trailer

The role also involves operating a range of plant and equipment, maintaining tools and machinery, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards. A strong team focus is essential, working closely with your crew to deliver outcomes on time while maintaining a safe work environment.

About you

You have experience working on sports fields, in parks maintenance, landscaping or a similar outdoor environment and are comfortable undertaking a range of manual tasks as part of a crew.

You’ll also bring:

• Experience in grounds maintenance or similar labouring work
• The ability to safely perform manual tasks in an outdoor environment
• Experience using tools and plant such as mowers, brush cutters or similar equipment
• A willingness to operate the tractor
• Ability to work as part of a designated run/crew and follow direction
• A strong focus on safe work practices and maintaining equipment
• Reliability and a positive, team focused approach

Requirements:

• Current truck licence (minimum MR - medium rigid)
• Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
