About the Role

As an Asphalt Supervisor, you will play a key role in planning and delivering paving, milling, profiling, patching, and reinstatement works across a variety of civil infrastructure projects.

You will be responsible for leading asphalt crews, coordinating resources, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to specification.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and coordinating daily asphalt and spray seal operations

• Supervising asphalt foremen and crews

• Coordinating plant, trucks, materials, and subcontractors

• Reviewing project drawings, specifications, and work programs

• Managing site readiness and traffic management requirements

• Monitoring asphalt quality, temperatures, compaction, and finish standards

• Ensuring compliance with SWMS, quality plans, and company procedures

• Leading pre-starts, toolbox talks, and safety initiatives

• Maintaining site documentation, diaries, inspections, and QA records

• Communicating effectively with project managers, clients, and stakeholders

• Managing risks and responding to operational challenges and changing site conditions

About You

• To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience supervising asphalt paving and milling operations

• Strong knowledge of asphalt production, laydown techniques, compaction, and quality control

• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work plans

• Experience coordinating crews, plant, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

• Sound computer skills and experience completing digital records and reports

Essential Requirements

• Construction Industry White Card

• Current Driver Licence

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in asphalt surfacing environments with leadership experience in overseeing paving / spray operations highly desirable.

Desirable

• Heavy vehicle licence

• Plant operation tickets

• First Aid Certificate

• Relevant supervisor/leadership training
