Veterinary Nurse

About the role

Kindred Vet is a new, membership-based veterinary clinic opening in Dickson, ACT in mid-September 2026. We are looking for experienced veterinary nurses to join our team. At Kindred Vet, we will help you practice to the top of your ability - think dentals, lab work, pharmacy, consulting, anaesthesia, x-rays and triage. We have Customer Care Representatives who are excellent at what they do, so you won't need to answer phones or take payments. We are happy to spend time and money on training and CPD to increase your skills beyond your core training, so that you can truly be a care partner at the hospital. If you are interested in upskilling in behaviour, rehabilitation or nutrition, we are keen to support you. And your opinion matters - if you have concerns about either an inpatient or outpatient at Kindred Vet who isn't doing as well as they could be, we want you to tell us.

Key responsibilities

• Dentals, lab work, pharmacy, consulting, anaesthesia, x-rays and triage

• Caring for patients in hospital, supporting our veterinarians in surgery, procedures and during consults

About you

• Experienced veterinary nurse confident in at least one of the following areas: Medicine/procedures/ hospitalization, Surgery, or Consulting

• Certificate IV, Diploma of Veterinary Nursing, Bachelor of Veterinary Technology or overseas Bachelor of Veterinary Science strongly desired (however if you are working towards these qualifications and your clinical skills are strong, still apply)

• Fast learner invested in making veterinary nursing your career, including commitment to training and CPD

• Team player with good communication skills

About us

Kindred Vet is a new, membership-based clinic opening in Dickson, ACT in mid-September 2026. While we still do pay-as-you-go, GP veterinary work like other clinics, we are also a little different. Our unique membership models (Core and VIP - Very Important Pet) are designed to reduce barriers to care and encourage pet owners to address pet health concerns before they grow. We are also co-located with the Walk In Clinic For Animals, which offers urgent after hours care to pets from 6pm every evening. This means our patients can stay in hospital overnight with dedicated nurses caring for them 24/7, ensuring a high standard of care at all times. Our clinic is purpose built, but housed inside a large building on the first floor. This means there is a comfortable staff room, floor to ceiling windows that cover 2/3 of the hospital allowing natural light and views, a coffee machine, 6 consult rooms + family/grieving room built to emulate a living room at home, 2 surgical theatres + dirty procedures room + large three table treatment area, plus ultrasound room, x-ray room, wards etc. We are also only open 8am-6pm Monday to Friday, so no weekend or public holiday work required.
