About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to help shape how the ABC safely adopts enterprise AI at scale. As AI becomes part of everyday work, this role will help staff understand, experiment with and apply emerging tools in practical ways that improve productivity, creativity and decision-making, while staying aligned to ABC values, policies and standards.

The AI Adoption Specialist will be hands-on with workforce enablement, coaching, training and practical support, helping teams turn real business and editorial workflows into safe, repeatable AI-assisted practices. The role sits at the intersection of technology, people, change and responsible adoption, acting as a trusted link between users, platform teams and governance groups.

Key Accountabilities 

• Lead hands-on enablement for enterprise AI tools, helping teams across the ABC build confidence through onboarding, training, coaching and practical use case support.
• Provide Level 2 support for AI-related enquiries, including advanced “how to” guidance, workflow design support and agent usage assistance within approved guardrails.
• Build practical self-service resources, including user guides, prompt libraries, FAQs and real-world examples that help staff apply AI safely in ABC workflows. Facilitate regular workshops, office sessions and capability clinics to support staff adoption and AI capability uplift.
• Work with teams to identify where AI can safely support business and editorial workflows, turning ideas into practical, repeatable ways of working. Identify common adoption challenges, trends and improvement opportunities, and provide insights to support platform enhancements, training content and governance discussions.
• Assist with the transition and rollout of services from external partners by progressively taking ownership of enablement activities and knowledge resources.
• Work collaboratively with Service Desk teams to strengthen triage processes, knowledge deflection and escalation pathways for AI-related support.
• Promote responsible AI usage by reinforcing ABC policies, editorial standards and acceptable use guidance through all engagement activities.
• Actively promote ABC values and apply all relevant workplace policies and guidelines.
• Cooperate with all reasonable workplace health and safety instructions, procedures and policies, and take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others in the workplace. Additional WHS responsibilities apply to Managers and Supervisors, Team Directors and other Officers.

About You

You’ll bring curiosity, strong communication skills and a practical understanding of how people adopt new technology. You may have a background in digital adoption, change, education, communications, product enablement, technology support or capability uplift. What matters most is your ability to make emerging technology understandable, useful and safe for a broad range of users.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in technology, communications, education or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting digital product adoption, change enablement or capability uplift within a large or complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of modern AI tools and concepts, including prompt design, agent-based workflows and practical workplace applications.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, adapting communication styles across a range of roles and disciplines.
• Experience developing user-focused documentation, training materials and enablement resources.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technology, policy and business teams.
• Ability to identify patterns and trends in user behaviour and support requests and translate findings into scalable enablement improvements.
