Lifestyle Assistant

The Lifestyle Assistant is part of the Culture & Wellbeing team, with responsibility to support the delivery of a person-centered life enriching Culture and Wellbeing program, to meet resident needs across the spectrum of recreation, culture and wellbeing. Lifestyle programs are designed to support, challenge and enhance the physical, psychological, social, and emotional wellbeing of residents. Examples include pursuits and hobbies such as crafts, gardening, photography, baking and cooking, games, social connections and computer skills.Key responsibilitiesUnder direction of Culture & Wellbeing Manager, ensure effective setup, access, catering and delivery of programsEnsure venue is returned to its original state and residents are safely escorted back to their rooms at program completionSupervise external resident outings as required, ensuring residents are safely secured and transported in the bus, in compliance with mobility requirements as documented in Care PlansPorter residents to and from internal events as required, in compliance with mobility requirements as documented in Care PlansWith a person-centred approach, under the direction of the Culture & Wellbeing Manager, assist with identifying and documenting resident lifestyle needs using electronic assessment and care plan tools in iCareDocument programs, attendance lists and update resident care plans and other documentation as required in iCare to comply with Aged Care Standards and Emmy Monash Policies and ProceduresPrepare reports and reviews as requested by Culture & Wellbeing Liaison OfficerAssist with meals, morning teas, high holidays and special eventsInduct, support and supervise volunteers as required, providing direction and support in their allocated rolesReport any issues arising and relevant information regarding volunteers to Culture & Wellbeing Liaison OfficerAbout youMinimum Certificate IV in Leisure and HealthDemonstrated experience to deliver lifestyle programs in group and individual settingsProven experience in Aged Care preferably within a lifestyle, recreational or social program settingDemonstrated experience operating AV technology and equipmentGood computer skills and documentation of professional practice using a computer package such as iCareExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated experience in a team environmentDemonstrated cultural awareness and ability to foster strong connections with residents and family membersPolice Check and Working with Children CheckAbility to accompany and assist with resident mobility, including walking, transfers, and pushing residents in wheelchairsAbout usEmmy Monash Aged Care is a residential aged care service located at 518-526 Dandenong Road, Caulfield North.
