Project Manager – Power Infrastructure

Location: NSW (Sydney-based with project sites across the state)
Roster: Monday–Friday

Overview

Enemix is proud to partner with a leading client in the search for a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex power infrastructure projects across New South Wales. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting Australia’s energy transition by leading high-profile projects in high-voltage substations, transmission lines, grid connections, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and renewable energy balance-of-plant works.

Responsibilities

As the Project Manager, you will:

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of substation, transmission, grid connection, and BESS projects.
• Lead design coordination, procurement processes, construction management, and commissioning activities.
• Manage budgets effectively, including forecasting, cost control, and commercial reporting.
• Serve as the key point of contact for contractors, consultants, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and utility stakeholders.
• Supervise activities on-site to ensure progress tracking, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
• Draft, review, and oversee project documentation, including project timelines, RFQs, WHS/QA plans, and project close-out packs.
• Proactively address project risks, technical challenges, and scheduling issues.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

• Demonstrable experience in managing power infrastructure projects, specifically in substations, transmission lines, and grid connections.
• In-depth knowledge of project management fundamentals, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with multiple stakeholders—contractors, consultants, utility providers, and suppliers.
• Experience managing construction and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to resolve technical and project-related challenges.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to develop and present comprehensive project documentation.
• A tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field.

Day-to-Day

In your daily activities, you’ll:

• Work closely with design teams, contractors, and key project stakeholders to maintain project schedules.
• Monitor project progress and handle any arising challenges to ensure successful outcomes on time and within budget.
• Conduct regular site inspections to oversee construction and commissioning operations.
• Create and deliver detailed project updates, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure all operations align with safety protocols, quality control measures, and environmental standards.
• Manage financial records and report on project costs to sustain economic efficiency.
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to drive project success.
