Forklift Trainer and Assessor

About the role

TRAINIX Australia is seeking an experienced Forklift Trainer and Assessor to join our team in Hoppers Crossing VIC. This is a full-time or part-time position that offers flexibility whilst delivering high-quality vocational training and assessment in forklift operation and safety. As a Forklift Trainer and Assessor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that participants acquire the essential skills and knowledge required to operate forklifts safely and competently in workplace environments. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving workplace safety standards and supporting the professional development of our clients across various industries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, practical forklift training programmes to participants of varying ability levels

• Conduct formal assessments of forklift operators to determine competency against national standards

• Provide constructive feedback to participants on their performance and areas for improvement

• Maintain detailed records of training delivery, assessments and participant progress

• Ensure all training activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations and industry best practice standards

• Operate and maintain training equipment and vehicles in safe working condition

• Liaise with employers and participants to understand specific training requirements and expectations

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials and delivery methods

• Maintain a safe training environment and enforce strict health and safety protocols

What we're looking for

• Current Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) qualification in forklift operation or equivalent industry experience

• Current Trainer and Assessor qualifications (TAE40116 or the current TAE40122 or equivalent) or willingness to obtain these qualifications

• We are always also looking to employ other Trainers and Assessors who can deliver courses on our scope which includes High Risk Work Licencing – Forklift, Order Picker, First Aid/CPR (HLTAID009, HLTAID010 and HLTAID012), Construction Induction Card (White Card) CPCWHS1001, Traffic Management, Confined Spaces, Working at Heights and Electrical Spotters.

• Demonstrated experience delivering vocational training and conducting assessments in a hands-on, practical environment

• Strong knowledge of forklift safety procedures, relevant legislation (including WorkSafe regulations) and industry standards

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of learners and adapt training delivery to different learning styles

• Current or ability to obtain a valid driver's licence and forklift certification

• A genuine commitment to workplace safety and continuous professional development

• Organisational skills and attention to detail in record-keeping and documentation

• Flexibility to work part-time hours, including potential early mornings, evenings or weekend sessions as required
