🏥About the Role

Position Title: Physiotherapist Assistant

Reporting To: Physiotherapist Lead

Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday AM shifts.

As a Physiotherapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing safe, evidence-based, person-centered care consistent with the ABH’s Mission and Values.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting in the safe and effective implementation of individual and group exercise programs developed by the physiotherapist to maintain residents’ independence and functional mobility.
• Obtaining resident feedback, monitoring progress, and keeping the Physiotherapist informed to update care plans.
• Implementing pain management programs in a safe and effective manner as directed by the Physiotherapist.
• Interacting with residents in a kind, caring, and respectful way, ensuring they are treated with dignity and supported to maintain their identity and independence.
• Complying with the Aged Care Act 2024 and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards (2025).

✨What We’re Looking For

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Understanding of the needs of the elderly.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding and ability to apply safe work practices and the Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Basic computer literacy and good verbal/written English communication skills.

Desirable:

• Experience in a similar role assisting the elderly or disabled.
• Dementia-specific knowledge or training.

Qualifications, Licenses & Registrations

Essential:

• Relevant Certificate IV or higher in Allied Health Assistance, Massage or equivalent.
• First Aid Certificate.
• National Police Check and evidence of legal entitlement to work in Australia.
