Basic Scaffolder

About the role

High Hopes Rail Pty Ltd is seeking a Basic Scaffolder to join our team in a full-time capacity based in Ipswich, QLD. This is an essential position within our trades and services operations, where you will be responsible for assembling, erecting, and dismantling scaffolding structures to support safe working environments across our rail-related projects. As a Basic Scaffolder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring workplace safety and productivity, working as part of a collaborative team to deliver high-quality scaffolding solutions that meet industry standards and project requirements.

What you'll be doing

• Assembling and erecting scaffolding structures according to specifications, drawings, and safety regulations

• Inspecting scaffolding components for damage or defects before installation

• Securing scaffolding to buildings, structures, and support points using appropriate fastening methods

• Dismantling and removing scaffolding structures safely upon project completion

• Maintaining accurate records of scaffolding installations and safety checks

• Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members, and other trades on site

• Following all safety procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment and adhering to work method statements

• Supporting more experienced scaffolders and assisting with training where applicable

• Identifying potential hazards and reporting safety concerns to management

What we're looking for

• A current or applicable scaffolding certification or qualification, or willingness to undertake formal training

• Demonstrated knowledge of scaffolding assembly, erection, and dismantling techniques

• Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and best practices in the scaffolding industry

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, including comfort with climbing and balancing on scaffolding structures

• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical drawings and specifications accurately

• Reliable and punctual work ethic with a commitment to team collaboration

• Excellent communication skills and willingness to take direction from supervisors

• A proactive approach to health and safety with a strong commitment to a zero-incident workplace

• Previous scaffolding experience in the rail, construction, or related industries is highly desirable
