The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution and successful delivery of SMP projects across Western Australia. This position is FIFO from Perth, suitable for a driven leader who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Resource Management

• Select, lead and develop project teams, including engineers, supervisors, trade personnel and subcontractors.
• Forecast labour and equipment requirements to meet program milestones and optimise productivity.
• Allocate resources effectively to support critical path activities.
• Build a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Project Execution & Delivery

• Manage end-to-end delivery of SMP scopes, including mobilisation, structural steel erection, mechanical equipment installation, platework, piping and pre-commissioning support.
• Coordinate sequencing of key activities such as fabrication and delivery of spools and steel, lift planning, alignment, bolt-up, welding and testing.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, ITPs and contractual obligations.
• Oversee planning, scheduling and program integrity, including look-ahead programs and progress claims.
• Coordinate crane and lifting requirements, including lift studies, permits and interface with site logistics.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, progress meetings and performance updates.
• Liaise with consultants and subcontractors to address RFIs, NCRs, and design queries.
• Represent Multiplant during audits, inspections and handovers, ensuring client satisfaction.

Cost & Commercial Management

• Monitor budgets, forecasts and delivery against KPIs and margin expectations.
• Oversee procurement and subcontractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify, capture and substantiate variations, delays and EOT claims.
• Identify construction efficiencies that improve program and commercial outcomes.

Communication & Reporting

• Provide clear and consistent reporting to clients, site teams and senior management.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates and delay justifications.
• Manage documentation, approvals and workflows using company systems.

Quality & Safety Oversight

• Champion safety leadership and drive application of HSE Management Plans on site.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are enforced, including weld quality, NDT, inspection records and non-conformance management.
• Conduct inspections and audits across SMP activities and monitor environmental controls.

Key Requirements

To be successful, you will bring:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager, with strong technical experience delivering SMP scope of works.
• Demonstrated capability in leading site teams and coordinating all aspects of project delivery.
• Diploma or higher in Project Management, Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional reports and instructions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project (or equivalent project scheduling tools).
• Proven ability to build strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• A proactive, safety-first leadership approach and commitment to high-quality outcomes.
• Exposure to Tier 1 Client stakeholder engagement.
