Running from 30th November 2026 to 19th February 2027, Beach Energy’s paid Summer Vacation Program gives you the opportunity to gain practical industry experience, contribute to meaningful work and build the skills, confidence and networks that can help launch your career.

As a Summer Vacation Program - Geoscientist student, you will join our Exploration & Subsurface division in Adelaide, supporting the Geoscience team through a structured placement focused on supervised geological and geophysical project work.

You will contribute to projects that build practical industry experience, strengthen technical capability and help Beach Energy identify, evaluate and develop subsurface opportunities across its exploration and production portfolio.

Throughout the program, you will be supported by a dedicated mentor and buddy, with ongoing guidance, coaching and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals across the business.

Additionally, there will be the opportunity to visit one of our operational sites and see how the industry operates in practice, giving you exposure to activities not typically experienced at university.

In this placement, you will support the Geoscience team by contributing to supervised geological and geophysical project work while developing technical, commercial and professional understanding of the energy industry.

• Supporting supervised geological and geophysical project work to build practical understanding of Beach’s exploration and production activities.
• Assisting with the review, interpretation and integration of subsurface data to contribute to project analysis and recommendations.
• Preparing clear summaries, maps, figures or other supporting materials to communicate project findings to the Geoscience team.
• Compiling, organising and quality checking geological, geophysical and well data to support efficient analysis and decision making.
• Using relevant software, systems and tools under supervision to undertake basic technical analysis and present information in an accessible format.
• Participating in learning activities, field visits, technical discussions and project tasks to develop practical geoscience capability.
• Preparing and delivering a final project summary or presentation that explains work completed, key insights and contribution to the team.

We are looking for a motivated, curious and resourceful student who is interested in gaining real-world geoscience [experience and exploring a potential career with Beach Energy.

To be considered, you will currently be in your penultimate year of a tertiary qualification in Petroleum Geology, Geophysics, or Science with a major in Geophysics, Geoscience or Geology and Physics.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• An interest in exploration, subsurface opportunities and the technical aspects of the energy industry.
• Curiosity, creative thinking, problem-solving ability, flexibility and a willingness to learn and apply feedback.
