We are currently seeking a reliable, friendly and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced medical environment, has excellent communication and organisational skills and takes pride in delivering outstanding patient service.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This position will involve a variety of reception and administrative duties, with shifts offered on a casual basis to support busy periods and staff leave coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and providing exceptional customer service

• Answering incoming phone calls and managing appointment enquiries

• Booking and triaging appointments in accordance with practice procedures

• Processing EFTPOS, Medicare and other payments/claims

• Data entry and maintaining accurate patient records in medical software

• Managing incoming clinical correspondence, results and patient documents

• General reception and administrative support duties

• Assisting doctors, nurses, the Practice Manager and administration team as required

• Maintaining a clean, organised and professional reception and waiting area

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in a reception, administration or customer service role

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• The ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment

• A professional, friendly and compassionate manner

• A strong understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy requirements

• Availability to work flexible casual shifts to cover peak periods and staff leave

Desirable

• Previous experience in a medical reception role

• Experience using medical or practice management software

• First Aid Certificate

• Working With Children Check

• National Criminal Record Check
