Exploration Geologist

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Geologist, the Exploration Geologist will assist with exploration activities that support resource growth and project advancement. This role is based in Malaga and offers the opportunity to work across a range of geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets while contributing to exploration targeting and project evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and validate historical exploration data from acquired tenements.

• Interpret geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets to support exploration targeting.

• Log and sample drill core and rock chips during drilling programs.

• Collect and analyse geological data including density and magnetic susceptibility measurements.

• Utilise tools such as ioGAS and pXRF to evaluate geochemical information.

• Develop and maintain GIS projects and 3D geological models using software including Leapfrog, Micromine, ArcGIS and QGIS.

• Assist in the identification of new exploration targets and opportunities.

• Maintain high standards of geological data collection consistent with the JORC Code 2012.

About you

• A Bachelor's Degree majoring in Geology.

• A current WA Driver's Licence.

• A minimum of 2 years' exploration geology experience.

• Working knowledge of GIS systems.

• Experience using ArcGIS, QGIS and geological modelling software such as Leapfrog or Micromine.

• Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• Exposure to remote field exploration environments will be highly regarded.
