About the role
At Believe Housing Australia (part of the AnglicareSA family), our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a safe, affordable and secure place to call home.
Here, your work goes beyond bricks and mortar. You'll join a passionate crew committed to addressing one of the most pressing challenges of our time: housing insecurity.
Our work is complex and the challenges we face are significant, but the rewards are unparalleled. Every day, you’ll help us find innovative solutions that make a lasting impact. You’ll help people find not just a house, but a place they can truly call home.
Join us at Believe Housing Australia and help create brighter futures, together.
Help keep Believe Housing properties safe, tidy and well maintained by delivering high-quality gardening and grounds maintenance services across a range of residential sites. You'll work both independently and as part of a supportive maintenance team, using your practical skills to create outdoor spaces that residents can enjoy while providing friendly, customer-focused service.
You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:
● Carrying out gardening and grounds maintenance, including mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, mulching and irrigation maintenance.
● Operating and maintaining gardening equipment and power tools safely while completing work to a high standard.
● Completing minor property maintenance tasks, reporting maintenance issues and maintaining accurate records.
● Building positive relationships with residents by delivering responsive, respectful and customer-focused service.
● Following safe work practices and contributing to a positive workplace safety culture.
To thrive in this role, you will have:
● Experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, landscaping or a similar outdoor maintenance role.
● Confidence using gardening equipment, power tools and machinery safely.
● Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of work.
● A customer-focused approach with good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
● A current driver's licence and the ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work.
We would also love you to have:
● Experience maintaining residential or community housing properties.
● Knowledge of irrigation systems, weed control and basic horticultural practices.
● Basic computer skills to complete records and report maintenance issues.
● A horticulture, landscaping or related qualification (desirable but not essential).
Your contribution here matters. We want you to see your impact every day, and we want you to feel valued for it.
Here’s what you can expect in your career at Believe Housing Australia:
● So many lives, right here in SA: Our ripple effect starts with you. Whatever your role, you’ll help find a way forward for the communities you live in and care about. That’s something to be proud of.
● So many ways, for our clients and you: We support those in need in so many ways. For you, that means real opportunity to gain new knowledge and experiences and to explore the many pathways a career in our sector can take.
● So much compassion, and a place to belong: At Believe Housing Australia, you’ll never feel alone. You’ll lean on and learn from genuine people driven to do good, and you’ll build relationships that last a lifetime.
● Make your pay go further with salary packaging options, including novated leasing, plus savings on health insurance, motor vehicles, opticians, pharmacy and gym memberships
● Grow your skills and career with learning programs, professional development pathways, and education assistance
● Live and work well with our employee wellbeing program, confidential employee assistance program, chaplaincy services, domestic and family violence support, and more
● Put your family first with paid parental leave (including superannuation), personal leave to care for family members and additional unpaid leave for caring responsibilities
