Schlam is seeking a Technical Support Representative to join our Product Lifecycle Services (PLS) team. Based in Muswellbrook and supporting key mining operations across New South Wales, this role is ideal for a Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Structural Engineer who is eager to combine technical problem solving, field-based engineering, and customer engagement while gaining exposure to heavy mobile equipment and asset lifecycle management.

As part of Schlam's Product Lifecycle Services team, you'll develop valuable operational and customer-facing experience while building a pathway into broader career opportunities across the business, including our Engineering and Product Development teams.

About The Role

The Technical Support Representative provides technical support across the asset lifecycle, helping customers maximise equipment performance, reliability, and value. Working closely with site teams, maintenance personnel, and internal engineering teams, you'll contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while developing strong technical and field-based capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding & Commissioning: Support equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and customer handover activities.Performance Excellence: Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to improve reliability and uptime.Non-Conformance Management: Investigate defects, failures, and quality concerns, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.Product Improvement: Gather field feedback and collaborate with Engineering and Product Development teams to enhance product performance.Parts & Aftermarket Support: Provide technical recommendations for replacement parts and aftermarket solutions.Repair & Refurbishment: Support maintenance, repair, and refurbishment activities throughout the equipment lifecycle.Asset Disposal & Recycling: Assist with end-of-life asset management and sustainable disposal processes.Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers and act as a trusted technical advisor across the NSW portfolio.

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically curious, customer-focused, and keen to develop a long-term career within the mining and heavy equipment industry.

You Will Have

Degree qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Structural Engineering.Graduate to 5 years' experience in engineering, maintenance, field service, technical support, or a related discipline.Strong interest in field-based engineering and customer-facing technical roles.Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.A proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.Ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.DesirableExposure to mining, heavy mobile equipment, manufacturing, or industrial environments.Experience with equipment diagnostics, reliability, maintenance, or asset management.Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
