Chef/Cook – MERCADO

Mercado is on the hunt for a passionate and reliable Cook / Kitchen Team Member to join our crew. We serve authentic food with traditional flavours and are on a mission to create a new experience in hospitality with a strong focus on breakfast, inspired by Mexican cuisine.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in every plate, and wants to be part of this creative journey and our community.

Your Role:

• Prepare food to Mercado standards: fast, fresh, consistent
• Run smooth breakfast service operations
• Complete daily opening and closing procedures
• Assist with stocktake and prep list planning
• Assist with ordering
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen throughout your shift
• Restock service stations (grill, pass, bain-marie) as needed
• Follow food safety protocols: temp logs, sanitising, HACCP
• Complete shift reports and communicate effectively with the team and with front of house

What You Bring:

• Breakfast experience (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail, speed, initiative, and cleanliness.
• Passion for food and consistency.
• Team player with a positive attitude and work ethic.
