VET Trainer/Teacher

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Learning Lead for Business and Entrepreneurship and the VET Manager, the Vocational Trainer/Teacher will facilitate all aspects of leading the training and development of students in line with the College’s Mission Statement, Vision, and Strategic Plan. 

Position type: Permanent, Part Time, Term Time, hours negotiable. Commencing Term 4, 2026 or Term 1, 2027 negotiable. 

About you

This position would suit someone with commitment to the ethos, Christian values, and teachings of the College. The suitable candidate will also have:

• Demonstrated ability to teach/ train Year 10, 11 and 12 students.

• Experience in teaching Diploma of Business, an advantage

• Interest in teaching/training Diploma of Business

• Demonstrated competence and confidence in using a personal computer and relevant software packages e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Demonstrated training competence to achieve quality learning outcomes for all students.

• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within the school community.

• Restorative Practices experiences, an advantage.  

• VET audits, planning and assessment development, an advantage.

Qualifications, Certifications and Work-related Experience:

• Accredited teacher/vocational trainer with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110, TAE40116) or recent upgrade. 

• Experience training BSB50120 or similar qualification preferred.

• Industry experience in a business environment would be a real advantage.

• Working with Children accreditation (Blue Card) or ability to obtain this accreditation.

• Preferred Qualifications and/or experience related to the Business training package.

• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary issues in Vocational Education and Training pathways.

• Awareness of National Qualification Framework imperatives.
