2027 Apprenticeships – Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade

Specialised Welding Products is a division of The Lincoln Electric Company (Australia) Pty Ltd and we are inviting applications for our 2027 Apprenticeship intake for our Newcastle Engineering facility. The successful candidates will be trained in welding and metal fabrication, how to read technical drawings, and how to use a variety of hand and power tools, and machines. Additionally, you will be trained in the use of automated and robotic welding equipment. 

The successful applicants will complete this Apprenticeship over four years while gaining on-the-job experience and developing their skills with an industry leading company. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining a clean and organised workshop, while adhering to all policies and procedures with a focus on workplace health and safety (WH&S).

The apprentices will attend TAFE and will be mentored by our team of skilled tradespeople. 

Our ideal candidate would possess the following attributes:

• A positive attitude to safety and wellbeing in the workplace

• Have a genuine passion to become a boilermaker and to work in the steel industry.

• Have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team environment.

• Education - successful completion of Year 10

• Sound achievements in mathematics and geometry 

• Good situational awareness and common sense

• Good mechanical aptitude

• Strong attention to detail

• Enthusiastic and keen to learn

• Reliable and punctual

• Positive attitude towards work

• Willing to adapt and learn new skills

• Ability to work overtime and shift work if/when required.

• Driving license, manual preferable.

 All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol screening.

Apprentice wages will be in accordance with Lincoln Electric Company (Australia) Pty Ltd Newcastle Enterprise Agreement 2026. 

Successful Apprentices will be eligible to participate in the Quarterly Operational Incentives plan. Conditions Apply.
