About the role
The role of Team Leader Work Health and Safey is responsible for leading a team of safety professionals to effectively implement Council's Work Health and Safety Strategic Plan across a diverse portfolio of business units.This role will see you leading the development and implementation of WHS initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and enhancing the overall safety performance of the organisation.This role requires a strong leadership, which will be crucial in navigating complex WHS matters, foster a culture of safety, and drive measurable improvements in risk management and employee wellbeing.
To be successful in this role, you will have:a bachelor's degree qualification in Work Health and Safety or other relevant field, and extensive and contemporary experiencea certificate IV in Training and Assessmentcurrent Lead Auditor qualificationscurrent Project Management qualificationsa Class C Drivers Licenceproven experience leading complex and serious incident investigations, safety observations, audits and site inspectionsproven ability to build and lead high-performing teams for a focus on developing practical and innovative solutions to complex safety problemsextensive experience in negotiating positive outcomes with regulators on work health and safety mattersthe ability to develop strategic plans and successfully translate them into operational outcomesexperience influencing senior leaders and stakeholders to achieve strategic work health and safety outcomes. The commencing salary for this position is up to $115.3k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $133.6k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation We have a permanent full-time role availableThis role will be able to access a 19-day monthWe are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsiteThis role is located at the Wyong Administration BuildingA leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council's Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
