About The Role

As our new Payroll Compliance Lead, you’ll be pivotal in ensuring V/Line's payroll operations comply with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and Enterprise Agreement obligations. Reporting to the Head of Payroll, this role provides specialist advice, governance, and oversight to support accurate, transparent, and compliant payroll practices.

The successful candidate will be managing compliance risk, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the consistent application of employee entitlements. You’ll also apply your expertise through payroll analysis, quality assurance activities, statutory reporting, and participation in payroll projects, system enhancements, and change initiatives.

About You

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following key selection criteria within their application, as this forms part of our merit-based recruitment process:

Must have 3+ years’ experience successfully working in a senior Payroll compliance capacity within ‘Enterprise Agreement’ industries. (e.g. Electricity, Gas, Water, Waste Services, Construction, Transport, Warehouse)Deep experience and knowledge of Payroll processes, procedures and legislative/regulatory requirements.Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with a stakeholder of various levels of seniority, both internally and externally.Proven track record of leading, coaching and developing high-performing payroll teams.Proven ability to interpret complex data datasets/processes, whilst documenting key decisions and process improvements.

Salary for this position is commensurate to the successful candidate’s aligned skills and experience to the position.
