Earthworks Supervisors

Cross Verwijmeren Pty Ltd is a Bunbury based earthmoving company that provides earthmoving capability to mineral exploration and other resource projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established company that has current long-term contracts in the Pilbara.

About the role:

Cross Verwijmeren are looking for an experienced supervisor with earthmoving and exploration experience in the Pilbara.

The position involves the supervision, mentoring and upskilling of small operational teams. Applicants must be highly motivated and possess great organisational and leadership skills but also be open to personal growth and development.

Applicants must be able to problem solve, work under pressure, show initiative and have sound knowledge and understanding of HSEQ compliance and regulations.

Applicants must also be able to identify and manage psychosocial risks and hazards appropriately in the workplace.  

Roster:

• 12 days on, 9 days off (days only)

• Flying in and out of Perth

 Key responsibilities:

• Compliance of Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management plans and systems

• Management and supervision of personnel

• Manage daily earthworks operations

• Manage daily operational logistics (Personnel, LV/HV and HME movements)

• Liaise with management, clients and contractors

• Mentor, guide and instruct operators in various earthworks techniques and work methods.  

• Conduct incident reporting, recording and investigations

• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly audits

• Conduct Field Safety Interactions Observations

• Record and report weekly/monthly progress reports against targets  

• Chair monthly report presentations (on Teams or in Person)

• Manage and maintain personal and company monthly KPI’s  

 The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:

• Completed S26 training and DEMIRS Exam

• Manual C Class Drivers Licence

• Cert IV in Training and Assessing, TAE40110, TAE40116 or TAE40122 (not essential)

• Great communication skills both written and verbal

• Earthworks background as an operator (preferred)

• Minimum of 2-years’ experience as a supervisor in the earthworks industry (mandatory)

• Competent using various IT software programs (mandatory)
