Commercial Supervisor - Site Manager

About the role

This is a key position within the business, suited to an experienced commercial construction professional. As Commercial Supervisor / Site Manager, you will oversee designated commercial projects and act as a key point of contact between site teams, subcontractors, project management and company directors. Working closely with the Commercial Projects Manager and Directors, you will play an important role in managing day-to-day site operations, maintaining project progress, coordinating labour and resources, identifying issues early and ensuring projects achieve strong quality and commercial outcomes. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership, communicates well and understands what is required to keep commercial construction projects moving.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise designated commercial projects and ensure works are completed accurately, efficiently and on time

• Coordinate and oversee contractors and employees under your supervision

• Ensure all work complies with company standards, regulations and OHS requirements

• Inspect completed works to ensure a high standard of workmanship and that fixing, installation and finishing requirements have been met

• Generate Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for framing, fixing and flushing works at each stage

• Take daily photographs of works and upload them to the company computer system

• Complete daily records, including employee and subcontractor locations, delays, issues and general site status

• Maintain regular site records and provide updates on progress, deliveries and potential delays

• Ensure materials, specifications, sheet thicknesses, insulation, framing, fixings and other requirements match project quotations and scopes of work

• Organise labour, forecast quantities and allocate work tasks to subcontractors

About you

• Experienced in supervising commercial construction projects, preferably within wall and ceiling, fit-out or related trades

• Confident coordinating contractors, subcontractors, trades and site personnel

• Strong in construction processes, materials and site requirements

• Commercially minded and able to identify variations, manage project costs and communicate issues promptly

• Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities and projects

• Confident reading and preparing mark-up drawings, scopes of work and project documentation

• Experienced with project scheduling, quality control and site documentation

• Strong in communication and relationship management

• Committed to safety, quality workmanship and productivity

• Practical, proactive and capable of working independently
