Job Description

Customer Service Officers are critical to the delivery of an excellent visitor experience for visitors and guests to Perth Zoo - including but not limited to the front entrance, memberships counter, carousel, retail and reception.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following six (6) essential criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.

1. Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver exceptional customer service, with a genuine passion for creating positive customer experiences through a friendly, positive and professional approach.
2. Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers and colleagues in person, by telephone and via email, conveying information clearly, professionally and with a high level of customer focus.
3. Demonstrated experience and ability to accurately handle cash and process customer transactions using EFTPOS and point-of-sale (POS) systems, delivering efficient and professional service while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.
4. Proven ability to follow procedures and work instructions, maintaining a high level of efficiency when managing competing priorities in both high-pressure and quieter work environments.
5. A strong track record of contributing positively within a team environment, building effective working relationships and collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
6. An understanding of occupational, health and safety, equity and diversity principles and practices.
