Medical Science Liaison and Relationships Manager (Clinical Trial Network)

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our clinical trial site network as a Medical Science Liaison and Relationships Manager. This role will blend aspects of Business Development and Medical Science Liaison (MSL) activities to build and maintain a network of healthcare professionals, including general practitioners, specialists, and community leaders, to drive patient referrals for our clinical trials.

This role is essential to expanding our clinical trial network and ensuring diverse patient participation. We are looking for someone passionate about clinical research and building lasting professional relationships within the healthcare community.

Key Responsibilities:

• HCP engagement strategy: Develop and implement strategies to engage healthcare providers (GPs, specialists) and community organisations, creating awareness of ongoing and upcoming clinical trials.

• Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with referrers to facilitate a consistent pipeline of patients interested in participating in clinical trials.

• Business Development: Support healthcare business development strategy; identify new referral sources, partnerships and business opportunities to drive business growth and revenue

• Healthcare marketing and communications: Support in the development of HCP marketing and communications materials, as well as targeted HCP marketing campaigns

• Community engagement: Develop and implement sponsorship and conference engagement opportunities to increase general awareness of Canopy Clinical within the HCP community

• Education: Conduct outreach and educational sessions for healthcare professionals on the benefits and logistics of clinical trial participation for their patients.

• Communication: Serve as a liaison between the clinical trial site and external referrers, providing ongoing support and ensuring effective communication about trial opportunities and patient enrollment processes.

• Trial recruitment: Collaborate with internal teams to align referrer engagement efforts with clinical trial recruitment goals and timelines.

• Performance tracking: Track and report key performance metrics related to the number of referrers engaged and patients enrolled through referral networks.

Key Metrics for Success:

• Growth in the number of active healthcare professionals and community organizations referring patients to trials.

• Increase in patient enrollment driven by the referrer network.

• Strength and consistency of relationships with healthcare professionals and community stakeholders.
  

Qualifications and Prior Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or relevant experience

• At least three years or equivalent of demonstrated experience in a similar MSL, medical, or clinical research role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Prior experience in either Oncology, Cardiology and/or other specialist fields will be highly valued.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to educate and engage healthcare professionals.

• Strong background in working with both General Practitioners and Practice Managers, in addition to specialists for our more complex studies and indications 

• Familiarity with clinical trials and patient recruitment strategies is a plus.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• A valid drivers license and ability to travel around Sydney
