About The Role
In this role, you will support strong community outcomes by working closely with community groups, residents and stakeholders. You will help build partnerships, identify local needs and deliver programs, projects and initiatives that strengthen community connection and respond to emerging priorities.
You will also prepare reports, provide advice and contribute to planning that supports Council’s objectives, policies and services. This role will suit someone who communicates well, works collaboratively and is committed to maintaining a positive, safe and supportive team culture while delivering quality outcomes for the community.
About You
Relevant tertiary qualification in community development, social science, social work or a related field, or significant experience in a similar role. Completion of community engagement public participation training (such as IAP2) or relevant industry experience engaging with stakeholders and willingness to undertake training. Experience using Asset-Based Community Development approaches to support community groups and build long-term capacity. Strong project management skills, including delivering community development projects on time and within budget. Experience in community sector development, capacity building and working within social justice, access and equity principles. Research, analytical and problem-solving skills to identify gaps, trends and opportunities for community programs. Ability to work independently, show initiative and manage changing priorities in a busy environment. Well-developed written communication skills, including preparing correspondence, reports and submissions. Current Queensland "C" class driver licence. Working with Children Blue card will be required
