ICT Infrastructure Project Manager

Voak is seeking an experienced infrastructure project manager to join us as a Senior Manager, to work with Federal Government clients on cloud migration & modernisation, and technology refresh programs.

We're looking for someone who has delivered complex ICT infrastructure projects in large enterprise or government environments, knows their way around a recognised project management methodology, and stays calm when a dependency moves.

A Day in the Life

Operating at the intersection of delivery management and technical coordination, your day-to-day duties will be hands-on and outcome-focused:

• Cloud Migration & Modernisation: Leading the end-to-end delivery of on-premises to Azure migration and modernisation activity, including discovery, wave planning, cutover and post-migration stabilisation.

• Infrastructure Delivery: Overseeing server, storage and virtualisation refresh programs, network upgrades, and data centre transformation.

• Procurement & Commercial: Supporting procurement activity end to end - developing requirements and scopes of work, contributing to evaluation processes, and managing contracts and supplier performance in line with Commonwealth obligations.

• Security & Compliance: Delivering cybersecurity-related infrastructure initiatives and ensuring projects meet government policy, security requirements, architecture standards and enterprise operational support models.

• Vendor Coordination: Managing service providers, systems integrators and technical specialists to secure scope, schedule works, and hold delivery partners to committed outcomes.

• Governance & Reporting: Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers and RAID artefacts, and running steering committees and executive reporting to support informed decision-making.

• Transition to Operations: Overseeing testing, operational readiness, handover and knowledge transfer so delivered capability lands cleanly with support teams.

Who You Are

You are a delivery-focused project manager who is comfortable in technical detail without needing to be the engineer. You bring commercial judgement, calm under schedule pressure, and the credibility to be trusted by both the infrastructure team and the business.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience leading complex ICT infrastructure projects in large enterprise or government environments, from planning through to closure.

• Demonstrated delivery of cloud migration or modernisation programs, ideally on-premises to Azure.

• Hands-on project delivery across infrastructure domains - cloud services, network, data centres, server and storage platforms, and end-user computing.

• Strong command of recognised project management methodologies and governance frameworks (PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent), including scope, schedule, budget, risk and dependency management.

• A track record of managing vendors and service providers, and of building effective relationships across business, technical and executive stakeholder groups.

• Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to prepare executive-level documentation and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with Commonwealth governance, security and procurement obligations.

• Experience with Nutanix or comparable hyperconverged and virtualisation platforms, and with Windows 11 endpoint migration, is highly regarded.

This role requires a Baseline Security Clearance or higher.
