Principal House Officer (Surgery) (Hervey Bay and Maryborough)

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Principal House Officers (Surgery) to join our consultant-led surgical team across Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience in elective and emergency general surgery, perioperative care, and operative management while working in a supportive regional health service.

Your opportunity:

• To participate in the provision, development and maintenance of an effective, efficient and equitable clinical service to the hospital patients in consultation with consultants, visiting specialists, nurses and allied health professionals.
• To contribute to the continual upgrading of medical education, and dissemination of knowledge to staff and patients.
• The appointment will be to the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service for the provision of services to Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals.
• A Principal House Officer is a medical practitioner in the third or subsequent year of practical experience after eligibility for full registration as a medical practitioner.

Temporary Full Time Positions (76 hours p.f.) from date of appointment for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension.
