About the role: 

This role will be based on our vessel fishing out of Mandurah. You must have accommodation in Mandurah area if applying for this role as there is no living onboard the vessels as we are day fishing.

You will be required to support the day to day running of the commercial fishing vessel and be required to follow all directions provided by the Master.

Responsibilities include:

• Operate, clean, and maintain fishing gear.

• Basic maintenance of vessel.

• Cleaning of all work areas.

• Process and store catch.

• Stacking pots.

• Rope handling.

• Report any incidents or near misses.

• Manual handling.

About you: You will:

• Be able to work within a team.

• Be able to work at sea.

• Be strong and physically fit.

• Be available to work various shifts between Monday – Sunday, 5am – 5pm.

• Have a current driver’s licence.

• Be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug test.

Remuneration:

You will be paid under the NES award at the full day rate listed below which includes casual loading at a rate of 25%.  This includes all additional work on fishing equipment and vessel maintenance, as required.

Remuneration will be $300 per day plus $0.40 per kg for all kg caught plus yearly bonus if catch targets are achieved buy the vessel for the bonus period.

Estimated annual earnings of approx. $75,000 - $90,000 based on approx. 220 days worked per year. Increased earnings are paid by way of kilogram’s caught and a yearly bonus when catch exceeds catch targets. 

All rates are exclusive of superannuation.
