EOI - YOUTH ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

Our North Region team is seeking internal expressions of interest for a Youth Engagement Officer to support the ongoing operation and development of the Youth Advisory Council (YAC). In this role, you will work directly with young people to support their participation in consultation and collaboration, helping them provide input into services that impact them.

This is an opportunity to work alongside young people and help ensure their ideas and experiences are heard. You will contribute to an initiative that brings young people and the Department for Child Protection together to share perspectives and inform conversations about services.

You will be responsible for:

• Coordinating and facilitating regular YAC meetings, activities and guest participation
• Building trusted relationships with young people, families, case managers and key stakeholders
• Keeping things running smoothly by managing records, transport, payments and activities within budget
• Creating and delivering engaging recreational and youth advocacy programs alongside YAC members
• Championing young people’s voices by supporting consultation, collaboration and continuous improvement of services.

• You navigate complex and sensitive situations with confidence, empathy and professionalism
• You build collaborative partnerships with a range of stakeholders
• You communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a range of audiences
• You are organised and confident facilitating youth consultation in safe, inclusive and respectful environments.
