QA/QC Inspector

SIMPEC have been awarded the main procurement and construction contract for the residue filtration stage 2 project at Alcoa's Pinjarra Alumina Refinery, which will involve delivering infrastructure and services to increase processing capacity.

We're seeking a QA/QC Inspector to join our construction team, working Monday to Friday for a duration of approximately 9+ months. This role will provide leadership in the development, implementation and assurance of QA/QC across the project.

The Role:

• Development and implementation of the project’s quality management system.
• Progressively compile the Project MDR and ensure traceability is maintained throughout the project.
• Solve QA/QC queries in accordance with relevant specifications, Standards, management plans, procedures etc.
• Raise, action and close out Non-Conformance Reports.
• Visual Inspection of welds (from fit-up through to completion) in accordance with defined acceptance criteria.
• Inspection of structural, mechanical and piping installations including progressive material control, flange management, coatings inspections, alignment and dimensional verifications in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.
• Identify and correct QMS gaps and instances of duplication of work to ensure optimal performance

About You:

• Hold CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector Certificate or equivalent 
• Welding Supervisor & Cert 10 qualifications highly regarded.
• A minimum of 5 years industry experience with a minimum of 2 years in a QA/QC role in construction projects.
• Strong understanding of AS/NZS 1554.1-7, AS 4037, AS 4041, AS 4458, AS 3992, AS/NZS 4100, AS/NZS 5131, AS 2033.
• Relevant trade qualifications, engineering qualifications or NDE experience are highly regarded.
