About Us
Airco Brands is an Australian-owned company with over 60 years of experience providing quality fasteners, tools and equipment to the construction, industrial and retail markets. Our brands include Airco, SENCO, Otter, Colt and Cobra.
As a family-owned business, we are committed to being the Business Partner, Customer and Employer of Choice. We achieve this through exceptional customer support, high-quality products and a culture of continuous improvement.
With continued growth across our business, this is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation where your ideas, expertise and contribution will help shape our future success.
The Role
Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for an experienced and resourceful Product Manager to join our Product Team.
Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of product categories and driving their performance throughout the product lifecycle. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Procurement and key customers to identify opportunities, deliver innovative solutions and achieve commercial objectives.
This role offers the opportunity to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, making it ideal for a commercially minded product professional who enjoys market analysis, supplier engagement, product development and bringing new opportunities to life.
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of a portfolio of product categories, managing the complete product lifecycle from concept through to market launch and ongoing performance.
Identify, evaluate and develop new product opportunities through detailed market, customer and competitor analysis.
Lead the end-to-end product development process, including business case development, product specifications, sourcing strategies, supplier selection, commercial evaluation and launch execution.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines and critical path documents to ensure successful and on-time delivery of new product initiatives.
Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers, including pricing, product specifications, lead times, terms and ongoing performance expectations.
Manage international and domestic sourcing activities, including freight, logistics and supply chain coordination to ensure product availability and successful market introduction.
Establish product pricing, margin targets and commercial strategies that support business objectives and market competitiveness.
Prepare and manage six-month sales forecasts, inventory planning and demand projections to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Lead cross-functional project teams, driving alignment, accountability and execution across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Customer Service and Finance.
Create and maintain high-quality project documentation, business cases, product briefs, launch plans and performance reporting.
Act as the central point of communication for product initiatives, ensuring stakeholders are informed, engaged and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
Proactively identify risks, overcome obstacles and implement solutions to keep projects on track and deliver results.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the delivery of exceptional customer outcomes.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will be a commercially minded Product Manager who thrives on ownership, accountability and delivering outcomes. You will possess the drive, leadership and determination to take ideas from concept to market while influencing stakeholders and leading projects across the business.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience in Product Management, Category Management or a similar commercial role, with responsibility for managing products throughout their lifecycle.
Demonstrated experience leading new product development initiatives from concept and market analysis through to sourcing, launch and ongoing performance review.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, forecasting, margin management, business case development and supplier negotiations.
Experience developing product specifications and collaborating with suppliers to deliver commercially successful products.
Sound understanding of sourcing, supply chain, freight and inventory management, including demand planning and sales forecasting.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market trends, customer insights, sales data and business performance metrics to support decision-making.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver multiple initiatives simultaneously while managing competing deadlines.
Proven ability to prepare and present project plans, business cases, recommendations and progress updates to stakeholders at all levels.
Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
A proactive, organised and results-driven approach, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and problem-solving capability.
Demonstrated ability to navigate challenges, drive projects forward and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP.
While not essential, the following experience and qualifications will be highly regarded:
Experience within the hardware, industrial, construction, manufacturing or related industries.
