About the Role

As Assistant Store Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the store, lead and support the team and deliver an outstanding experience for our customers.

This is a hands-on retail leadership position where you will be actively involved on the shop floor while also helping drive sales, maintain high store standards and support the overall performance of the store.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Store Manager with the day-to-day operation of the store

• Leading and supporting the team and taking responsibility for the store when the Store Manager is absent

• Delivering friendly, knowledgeable and professional customer service

• Coaching and supporting team members to achieve sales and customer service goals

• Helping drive sales performance and achieve store targets

• Providing footwear fitting and sizing advice

• Assisting customers with sporting equipment, footwear and apparel across a range of sporting categories

• Recommending products that best meet customers' needs

• Processing sales transactions accurately through the point of sale system

• Assisting with stock control, replenishment, merchandising and ticketing

• Maintaining high standards of store presentation

• Supporting catalogue launches, promotions and seasonal campaigns

• Assisting with online order fulfilment and Click & Collect orders

• Assisting with store opening and closing procedures

• Working collaboratively with the Store Manager and team to create a positive and high-performing store environment

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have previous retail experience, ideally within a senior sales, supervisory or retail leadership position

• Enjoy leading, supporting and motivating a team

• Have a genuine commitment to providing outstanding customer service

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Be organised and confident managing multiple priorities in a busy retail environment

• Be reliable, motivated and have a strong work ethic

• Be comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions when required

• Have an interest in sport and an active lifestyle, which will be highly regarded

• Be available to work across a retail roster, including weekends as required
