Housekeeper and Family Cook

We are seeking a dependable, organised and proactive housekeeper to help maintain a clean, well-prepared and smoothly functioning family home.

This is a hands-on household position focused on cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, organisation and general household support. It does not include primary responsibility for childcare.

Approximately 15 hours per week
Example roster: Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons

Weekly

• Grocery shopping and agreed household errands

• Planning and preparing nutritious family dinners on each scheduled shift

• Preparing selected school snacks and lunchbox items

• Cleaning and resetting the kitchen after meal preparation

• Light tidying and resetting of shared household spaces

• Cleaning toilets and high-use bathroom areas

• Vacuuming and mopping shared household spaces

• Changing bed linen and making beds

• Washing, drying, folding and putting away clothing and household linen

• Monitoring and restocking groceries, toiletries and cleaning supplies

• Managing school uniforms and ensuring required items are clean and ready

Fortnightly

• Batch-cooking and freezer meal preparation

• Detailed cleaning of bathrooms, toilets and laundry areas

• Dusting shared household spaces

• Maintaining pantry, refrigerator and freezer organisation

• Reviewing food expiry dates and removing expired items

• Rotating household organisation tasks, such as cupboards, drawers and storage areas

Ongoing or as required

• Ironing and wardrobe organisation

• Seasonal wardrobe rotation and clothing organisation

• General household organisation and cupboard management

• Receiving deliveries and putting household items away

• Coordinating approved household trades and maintenance appointments

• Keeping receipts and recording agreed household purchases

• Identifying and communicating maintenance, supply or organisational needs

• Arranging approved dry-cleaning, clothing repairs or household item replacement

Duties will be prioritised according to the household’s needs, with meal preparation, laundry, household presentation and essential cleaning forming the core weekly responsibilities.
